How long does an interview take after the 01 visa filling is approved?

Great question  and one that trips up a lot of talented people going through the O-1 process for the first time.

Once your O-1 petition (Form I-129) is approved by USCIS, you still need to go through the U.S. consulate or embassy process if you’re applying from outside the U.S. (or if you’re changing status and need a visa stamp).

The timeline can vary by country and how busy your local consulate is. Typically, after your approval notice (the I-797), you’ll schedule a visa interview at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Depending on location and season, you could get an interview slot within a few days to several weeks.

The interview itself usually takes just a few minutes often under 10 minutes but plan to spend at least an hour at the consulate for security and waiting.

The consular officer will confirm your petition details, ask about your work, and make sure your supporting documents line up. If all goes well, your passport is usually returned with the visa stamp within about 5–10 business days  though again, this can vary by consulate.

Tip: Always check your specific embassy’s wait times and make sure you have all required documents ready to avoid delays.

Hope this helps best of luck with your next steps in the U.S.!
